Empowering People Through Education

From the end of 2006 to the middle of 2008 Verity was made an ambassador of education for INTEC College and was able to award 40 INTEC Bursaries worth R5000 each to South Africans wanting to further their education.

Many of the receipients of the bursaries were nominated by Future Owners of 'Journey'. Verity was also able to give 12 bursaries to the Saartjie Baartjman Centre for Women & Children as well as 2 bursaries as prizes in the POWA Annual Writing Contest.  Eden Campus - Karatara

In 2006 & 2007 Verity and Hello-Africa became involved with Eden Campus in Karatara. Eden is a rural enterprise University offering 'free' education to its students. While they learn all the skills they need to run a business the actual campus runs as a business itself allowing the students to subsidize their fees.

Hello-Africa's song 'SHINE' was chosen as the school's anthem and the band made a trip to play a concert on the campus ground in early 2007.

Verity also arranged for a foreign film maker to visit the school and it's story was included in an award winning documentary Trust 22. Photographer/Film maker Jan Turnbull also produced a promo video for the school after fillming one of Verity's visits to the campus.
